I have been searching for many years to find inner peace.  I have a great life, but I always find that something is missing.  I don't believe in any specific religion, but I know that there is some kind of higher power.  The only problem is that I'm not sure what it is.  I feel that there is something inside of me that wants to come out and that there is also some kind of emptiness inside.  I know that I have to figure out what it is on my own, but I get very discouraged at times.  I want more than anything to help someone and I feel like I am wasting my existence by not putting what I have been given to use.  Again I can't be sure what it is, but I feel something.  Any advice?

I know exactly what you are talking about.  Inner peace often alludes me and discouragement lingers often.  Asking for answers from your higher being may just leave you more confused and emply.  I've found that the best way to endure is to just trust that your higher being will guide you down a path of understanding purpose for which you choose.  It helps however to make sure you set the right values for yourself so that in the meantime you can accept the way you are carrying on with life.

Easier said than done.

Dear Wendi, Hi! Count yourself blessed because you are discovering that we may gain the whole world, but deep inside we realize that nothing we can experience through are senses will ever be enough. You want more than just that desperate flick of fulfillment. There's an intuitive sense that there is more to this life. Often this stirring causes us to seek some kind of temporary fix by engaging ourselves in some other field of endeavor thinking that is it. Sadly, we find that isn't it either. Am I saying that you should not pursue what your heart yearns for and that being helping others who are in desperate need for someone to care - of course not. If you can help others do so. What I am telling you to do is, is to find your calm center and center and center and center. Get in touch with that knowing that beckons you from within. Just observe and wait for direction. I feel that there is something lingering over you trying to keep you from moving forward. I feel that it is something ancient and beyond your present age of exsistence. i am not sure why it take pleasure in invading your life, but it does. I feel that you have to begin to live, but trying things you have thought about doing. write them down and just try them. Why? because it is the only way to get the rest of your being to begin to fall in line with a direction of progression.  Every step in the right direction will be unsure to you, you will question it all, and all of it will be challenged by that which holds you in the past.  I suggest the possiblity of having a spiritual bath and that you keep your head out of the clouds. try not to day dream too much it will keep you in this relam of lingo.
