Having just climbed out of depression due to a difficult situation recently, I feel for you there. I've learned tremendously from my recent experience, that is to believe in yourself no matter what, and to think of the possibilities rather than the hurdles.

My mom taught me a technique that has helped a lot, and that is to visualize your own face, cheerful and bright, and then keep repeating to yourself, "I believe that I'll be alright. I believe I'm gonna make it. I'm stronger than I think I am". You can say it out loud or in your heart, but just keep repeating it to yourself as much as you can whenever you remember. If I'm not mistaken, it's actually a form of self-hypnosis technique. At the same time, don't forget to breathe deeply in & out, it really helps to calm you down.

Megatons of HUGGIES for you~~

Massive Hugs and an arm to lean on. Rhutobello has wise advice. When we are depressed, we expend so much more energy on the negatives, it can be difficult to see the present moment. Try this: write down an affirmation, post it where you will see it often, the bathroom mirror, the fridge, dashboard of your vehicle. Say the affirmation out loud at least 5 times a day. It will change your perceptions, trust me.

Try this: "I live in a beautiful home which I maintain with ease"

note that the above phrase is set in the present moment and has no negatives.

Or this: "I am a strong, intelligent, capable woman"

Affirmations work on reprogramming the brain. Even if you don't believe the phrases in the beginning, keep repeating them and they will work. It can take some time but if you do it daily for 3 weeks, it overrides the negative stuff.

And also, try to contact a women's group in your area. Many women have gone through similar experiences, living with poverty and/or depression/anxiety. A support group can be a very empowering tool. This forum is a great place and I am sure you will find some great resources.

I would also like to suggest you see your family doctor and get a referral for Mental health services. You do not have to suffer in this way. If the depression and anxiety are environmental due to your current financial situation, short term anti-depressants may help you through it. If this is chronic, you are most certainly in need of appropriate medication for your well-being and the health of your family.

Blessings to you and best of luck with the new home that is coming your way.
