Dear Dada (Rohiniranjan ji),
Yes, this poses a serious problem for astrologers. (I mention astrologers as Horary involves western and Eastern, and most horary readers here follow western).
I use Neelkatha's + k.p.S method of judging the serious intent of the query + if the questioner is meaning what is questioned, as sometimes his/her question can be riddled by a confused mind or too many things.
When I find the question being revealed seriously enough, I can go ahead.
If you go through a sticky by me in this forum, you will find a mention by me there. Of course some thoughts are copied from Dr. Raman.

Very nice posting, Rishi.
One problem (or perhaps just an issue and not quite a problem) on internet is the fact that people from so many different time zones post their querries. Ideally, they should post the name of their city and local time (watch time! Not meaning Local Mean Time!) at the time of requesting their question.
Some astrologers sometimes use the horary epoch as the moment when they see/understand the query and draw the chart. They use the 7th house in the chart to represent the querant's first house. So a question about one's father would be seen from the 3rd house in that horary chart (3rd being 9th from 7th). They claim good results using that procedure. I vaguely recall reading something like that also in either KP readers or Astrology and Athrishta articles. It was a long long long time ago, though.
Regards,

Dear Dada (Rohiniranjan ji),
Yes, it is a problem too.. as there are so many restrictions in internet astrology, like people being misunderstood; lack of the communicating seeing the facial expressions of each other (we are all potential face readers after all!).
Another being the place of question.
K.P. does not use the time the question is asked, but the time the astrologer calculates; here, the free will is left to the astrologer's urge regarding answering the questions.
General Eastern Horary is more 'perfect ' in its method, as the questing time/place & answering time/place is the SAME.
Westerns are similar to the General Eastern, I think, but there are variations.
I think the variations have been brought in as sometimes the mood (urge) of the astrologer is important too, as he is in a way the navigator in answering the question. So variations was necessitated, as since we cannot change the internet easily, We have to adapt accordingly, as we alays did as human beings.
I am sure, other esteemed readers like Airgon and Fensi can shed better light.
While answering I use Eastern and Western both.
Another problem is that the question time is the present... so how do we see the past (not past life, but 'before the present)?
Narasimha's software was a great help here.
I wonder where Airgon and Fensi is now?

Hmm...! I thought KP used the sub number provided by the querent for the ascendant in the horary chart, while the planets were calculated for when the astrologer sat down to read the chart! Combo approach.
