Question on timing with retrograde significators

hello, been a while since I visited this site. computer crashed :( . I was doing a horary chart concerning timing of an event when I saw that one of the significators was retrograde.

The first significator was mars, at 10 aries 46. The second one was mercury (the retrograde one) at 15 aries 07. Now I know that mercury is retrograde here, and I'm new to dealing with it retrograde in interpretation. also, they are both cardinal signs in the sucedant 5th house (forgive me my bad spelling).

my question is, does the backwards motion of mercury (which would still remain retrograde by the time the two planets met) mean that the event timed occurs in 2.5 units of measurement, or something else entirely?

thanks for any help you can give me! :D

ah ok, thanks, so its 4.20. the 2.5 would be what I figured if the mercury moved backward to meet mars, which was more of an estimate anyway. Since its cardinal significators in succedant houses, the measure of time is in weeks, correct?

Edit: yeah that's some really good deduction of a chart from what I described, and I meant degrees not units (it was late). :D

Well, the traditional rules for timing :-
                            {Angular Houses........Days
Cardinal Signs and {Succeedant Houses...Weeks
                            {Cadent Houses.........Months

                            {Angular Houses........Weeks
Common Signs and {Succeedant Houses..Months
                            {Cadent Houses.........Years

                            {Angular Houses........Months
Fixed Signs and     {Succeedant Houses...Years
                            {Cadent Houses.........Time Unknown

The significator may be the planet representing either
the querant or the quesited as the case may be, or the
co-ruler the Moon when one significator is retrograde
or making no aspect to the other; but the aspect must
be applying; if seperating it will not bring the matter
to completion. The Moon, in most cases, is the dependable
significator

There are a lot more things to consider but what should
be known upfront is that timing by horary is not that
good at all and it is better to look at the natal chart
once the horary gives some estimation. Then after
estimating with Horary one can zero in with possibly
transits, directions - whichever technique describes the
situation will predict the time of the event.

okay. I will compare the horary chart to the coresponding natal chart to see if they coincide. Thank you very much for your help!
