Would a Venus return chart fit under the horary category? I was playing with some software today and got Venus to the same position it was in when I was born. I was curious to see how hellacious (if that's a word) this year was going to be.

Return charts of various kinds are useful if one has
the natal information for a client and they are asking
a horary. Run say the venus return as verification of
a horary result if for example Venus is a ruler in the
horary chart.

I use this very very rarely and only for established clients
of long duration as its a technique that is hardly ever
remarked upon for Horary in traditional literature.
Useful for some few clients and a few of their situations.

I far prefer a progression of the horary chart or
a progression of a natal chart :) and there are other
techniques like aspects between transits and backward
transits to each other from the natal chart to verify
the horary result dates... like
