I've been trying to sell my house for a while.  first, had bad advice from real estate agents which delayed the process.  I've researched how to do a chart, but it's pretty confusing.  Is there a more simple, beginner way that I can calculate my chart to determine when it's likely to happen?

I think astrology is one of the hardest disciplines to learn because there are so many different things to consider...the orb, the house, the sign it's in, what aspects it's making, is it approaching or leaving, above or below the horizon, etc., and that's just for one planet.  Do that for every natal planet and transiting planet, and there is no quick and easy.  Once you start to get the hang of it, though, it gets easier.

As far as when your house will sell...I'd do a horary chart.  That's a "birth" chart for the time/date/place where the question was asked.  Doing that, I get the following: (scroll down for some interpretations)

The problems you had with bad advice is showing here by the mercury square uranus and the mercury oppose ascendant.  The delay is also showing with the saturn square ascendant.   The Uranus square midheaven shows that when it sells, it will be quickly and suddenly.  The sun conjunct venus shows that it will sell, and you'll get a fair price.  The mars conjunct saturn, though, is another inhibiting transit that is likely to make this a longer wait than you'd like.  Jupiter is retrograde in the second house (the placement for money and possessions).  That means that your house probably won't sell until Jupiter begins traveling forward again, and gets back to its original starting point.  That won't happen until about the middle of November.

Thanks for outlining the chart for me and for the explanations.  I always thought horary astrology was based on birth time.  It's interesting to know that there are other factors.  Also interesting that the bad advice showed up as we had quite a lot of that which, I believe, added to the delays.  Hopefully it will be before November, but it's nice to know it will sell!

Is there a website that you can recommend for beginners?  I've very familiar with the tarot, but not so much with astrology.

I really don't spend too much time looking or visiting astrology type websites.  Perhaps I should sometimes to broaden my understanding and learning.  My student learning was 30-40 years ago.  The masters who taught me are no longer giving instruction.  So, I'd say that you will have to pursue those resources that you are attracted to, and those that come your way.
