I've posted here before, got no responses, but I'll try again.  Maybe this time someone out there is feeling kind enough to take a moment and post a reply.

It is 14:18 PM GMT-5 (eastern standard time USA) in Cincinnati, Ohio.  

I want to know if there is any indication that my financial situation will improve and when that might be.  I've been interviewing for other, better-paying jobs, but nothing much has happened yet.  I don't want to believe I'm doomed to have nothing and get nowhere for the rest of my life, but all the setbacks over the past 5 years (cancer, layoffs, etc.) haven't given me much reason to hope.

The message that I am getting from your post is that you focus too much on the negative aspects. Try to focus on the positive aspect of things...

Imagine what you want out of a new job...security, nice employer, benefits, co-workers, etc...focus on the good stuff...by saying I don't want to believe I'm doomed...is giving the Universe reason to make you feel doomed! Have faith, hope and be positive...everything will be just fine!!!
