Please allow me to rephrase as I have seen it in my experience.

Horary questions and answers thereof best reflect reality (chance of success?) when the questions are asked sincerely and seriously!

Therein (in that axiom/adage exists an important hint about astrology and why horary works as often as it does, fantastic-sounding though the concept may be to some ...!

I think Carl Jung (read Memories, Dreams and Reflections by Carl Jung) got it!

About horary only being able to answer questions about the one asking: I don't agree with that so much. I've been able to answer serious questions about people other than me in the forms of "Is so-and-so okay?" "What has so-and-so been doing these past few weeks?" "Is so-and-so in jail?" things like that. These questions more or less are 'state of' questions which can be easily discerned off of the radical chart and the Lord of the house that particular person is signified as. Now, more detailed questions, I'm not so sure.

Sincerity and serious-ness (is that a word?) are definitely important in horary. I've seen it misused a lot. My little rule is I don't ask horaries more than once a lunar cycle. Though, I've read you're not even supposed to ask that many. Hehehe.

Something else I've noticed that doesn't happen often. Backstory. Now, I know a lot of people just ASSUME you're supposed to know what's going on from the chart, but I find that rather ridiculous. Like, in judging if a woman is pregnant or something like that. I'd prefer to know the age and if she's been trying to get pregnant. I mean...honestly. Before I say 'yes' or 'no', I'd like to know what's going on. Is this woman around my age trying to conceive? Or is she like...forty? I think there's a large, large difference in the amount of positive testimony I need before I can say 'yes'.
