Man asks: Should I raise my fees?
Sagittarius is rising so that makes Jupiter his ruler, or significator as we say in horary language. That fits because it is in his Tenth House of his medical practice and also because Jupiter rules fees. This is a case where we know almost immediately that the answer is "No." That is because Jupiter is in one degree, a low degree and called "too early for now" degree in horary. The Second and Eighth Houses echo those sentiments. They are money houses, ruling resources and money from others and are in zero degrees. Venus, a money planet, is also in low and "too early" degrees. "I am going to make some easy money with this chart," I think to myself.
The Via Combust Way is an old quaint expression that identifies a section of the zodiac that is unfortunate. The Midheaven and four planets there are so placed showing him to be at a disadvantage and in a somewhat unstable and unpredictable situation as far as this question is concerned. This is no time to be raising his fees.
He will do fine because the Moon applies to only positive aspects. He will land on his feet because Mars is in the one protected area of the Via Combust Way, the degree of the benefic fixed star Spica in 23 degrees of Libra and Mars rules his Eleventh House that is the Second House to The Tenth, or money from the job. Follow all that? Further confirming a No answer is Neptune Retrograde in the First House. It rules the Third House of thinking processes and here he is not seeing things clearly.
One last thing, there is a refranation in this chart. That almost always indicates that the matter falls through. The Moon cannot complete its conjunction to Venus before Venus changes signs, or it "refrains" from making the aspect. Venus is a money planet and rules one of the money houses. This chart has "No" written all over it
Retrograde planets have something to hide many times, especially that elusive little Neptune. Also, Jupiter rules both his Twelfth and First Houses. The Twelfth House rules secrets and when the ruler is angular in the Tenth, the secret comes out to the world. I thought maybe I would do a little poking around.
The planets intercepted (hiding?) in the Seventh House piqued my curiosity. Also, the Part of Marriage is in the Twelfth House at 12 degrees and 10 minutes of Sagittarius. Relationships are always fodder for a little intrigue. I knew that the man was recently divorced after a long marriage so I concluded that the Sun in the Seventh House in the highest degree ruled the longest relationship and was the ex-wife. The Sun is void-of-course indicating that there is no energy left in that relationship. Mercury is in the next highest degrees and rules the Sixth House so that must be his office receptionist. Venus rules the Fifth House of courtship and romance and describes a younger woman with whom he may have recently become involved.
So where is the secret? If you want to know what the interference is with intercepted planets look for the ruler of the sign they are in. In this case, the Moon rules the intercepted sign of Cancer and is in the Eighth House. If you don't think secret sexual affair maybe you are a little too naïve to be a horary astrologer! The Venus lady will win because the Moon makes no aspect to Jupiter, but Venus is an exact trine.
When I rattled all this off it scared the living hell out of this guy because he was my boyfriend at the time. And yes, I married him. We have been married for 18 years and he is terrified of even looking at another woman for fear that it will show up in a horary chart.
