Does anyone have advice about what to do with a child who simply doesn't want to eat?  He's subsisting on very little food, and only wants to drink chocolate milk.  It's starting to worry me.

Thanks!

After raising 5 children,  please don't worry.  All kid go thru this, the good thing is he's drinking milk.  Here's a hint, use chocolate instant breakfast instead of syrup or powder. At least he'll get minerals & vitamins.  Then tell him he will only get milk 2 - 3 times a day unless he eats a biscut, or muffin. Get creative, muffins can have raisins, berries, apple, carrot, squah - get the idea.   Also giving him a chewable vitamin in the morning will make him hungry.

Good luck & be patient...

i am not a father but i have all but fully raised a couple of kids myself. and like sorceress, here said do not worry, kids will be kids will be kids.

most kids from my experience most children eat when and as much they require. only we adults in many cases do not see it that way becuase we have our own set of belief that one should eat this and this and this and in amounts for a healthy and wholesome meal.

again dont worry kids these are smarter than us parents
Thanks to you both.

Y'know, since he's not acting like he's got any less energy (Goddess knows he's got plenty of that!), I hadn't been particularly worried.  My mother was getting particularly worried, though, and since she's raised three kids and innumerable grandchildren, I figured I'd see if anyone could give me a bit of advice.  Funny enough, Sorceress, the doctor said approximately the same thing you did.

So thanks again for your help.  I'm off to pop a Flintstone vitamin, myself. : )

Children are deffinately our biggest educational lessons!!! Take a break & play with him, try chutes & ladders & use raisins as the booty - that always works....
Smile sweetheart,
