Yes ppl change, My great-grandfather was a very popular person, even today, 30+ years after he died, why?? because of his helping nature, because of his truthfulness, he helped (& cared) for everyone in his village & also the neighbouring ones too. He broughtup all his kids & grandkids in the same way. But my father's father & his brother's & sister's were all pieces of S*%#. After he died they like forgot everything he said, & did very selfish & petty thing's, i think my great-grandpa's soul hasn't been able to rest still.
Surprisingly my dad was the only of the 3rd generation, who inherited my great-grandpa's moral values & helping nature & he put the same in me & my sister, & they have brought us up very well, even in very difficult & near bankrupty condition's, none of us, lost our values & helping nature. Surprisingly again (to my dad, i knew this before he agreed to it) none of the 20-odd brother's & sister's he had (most of them cousins) none had inherited those values.
Now those values are in the 4th Generation, that is me & my sister, but I think she has those values more to heart than me. Not so surprisingly none of the other 30- odd cousins i have, no one else has these values. & 2 of my "a bit distant" aunts got married recently, since i don't see them having these values, i doubt there kids will too.
& this is just my father's side, my mom's side is even worse. But luckily some of my cousins on this side are decent.
Upbringing counts a lot, but it is upto the person to decide if they want to follow it or not...
