Dear Swetha,
Do I believe that you need to be disciplined to be successful?
Yes up to a point beyond which too much discipline can restrict and suffocate the person's development, self discipline can only most effectively be learned by first having to live within other people's limitations, and according to other people's rules.
Lack of adequate self discipline and control will almost inevitably lead to anything but success in life. But on the other hand too much discipline and control can devastate a person's self confidence, and "kill" their fighting spirit.
Getting the balance just right between too little and too much of these building blocks of success is a formidable task for any parent or person in a position of authority to have to take on, but increased responsibility for finding that balance point always goes hand in hand with us having that greater power or control.
Is there any particular reason in your own life or on your website, with regards to why you have asked this question at this specific moment in time?
I am picking up that this query is a highly personal question, rather than it being merely a general interest or curiosity one. I cannot easily just turn off or stop reading people, especially people such as yourself who I feel a strong connection with in wanting to help them.
I sincerely apologise if this unintentionally makes you feel uncomfortable answering this on the forum, but sometimes I cannot help or stop myself wanting to know and be of some practical assistance to a friend.
