i think you can "feel" for others but suffering for others... I doubt we can ever suffer for others. Each one has to go through the process on their own. Like when my husband's brother died of cancer... I could feel Abhi's ( my husband) pain but i couldn't suffer like he did or understand what he was facing.. I suffered in my own way.

Far more succinctly put than me.
Anyone who has had their child die has been through my sense of loss and pain and guilt, anyone who's have cancer knows the state of mind you get in to.
But when you suffer you do so alone and when death comes you face by yourself.

Yest Abhi and me were having this discussion.. and acc to him we can suffer for others... like the way  suffer when he is sick or when he was admitted in the hospital... or the way he suffers when he sees me in physical pain... I mean to say we do suffer but in our own way

If anyone out there would like some pain - let me know, my wife is waiting for a new hip joint and the pain is excruciating, I'm recovering yet yet another cancer op. and peeing is my new least favourite thing, so we've plenty to spare if someone feels like trying - please let us know.

yes your true in i don't feel your pain everyone feels their own which is caused by that which influences consequence My grandfather had died i felt emotional pain for him and myself, but it lead me to greater level of pain which concocts new healing and formation, empathy is only for those who wish to feel more than just their own pain. Anyone in fullfillment of there own pain will not relate due to the fact they are overwhelmed my their own
