Hi,
My nails are almond shaped, very hard and strong with vertical ridges and they grow very fast. Until I was about 37 years old I bit them viciously.

The moons only show on the thumbs and the "french" manicure doesn't look good because they're too long.  

I even hesitate doing pottery because I'd have to cut my nails very short to prevent damage to the pots, but I don't worry too much about gloves when gardening.  

When they break or snap off it really hurts and I have to cut them all to make them about the same length.
