Till I started MysticBoard.com (previously sunsigns.org), I had no clue of astrology more than the twelve signs....

In fact the first time I had to actually look up the meaning of tarot, runes, subliminal, tropicaL and sidereal astro..

but now I find them so fascinating...

Slowly I realized that I had been exposed to these subjects since childhood.. my great granddad was a renowned astrologer. my dad reads palms as a hobby and even on this forum , my husband reads handwriting, my uncle is a numerologist...

When was the first time you were exposed to the mystic world?

I believe I was always fascinated by the movies that left you wondering........  They were not harsh and horrific, just wondering how this or that could happen out the normal order.

i am not exactly sure when i was 1st formally introduced but my first time i had ever experienced something otherworldly i guess is the word i am looking for was when i was about six years old    i was visiting my grandparents in maine bar harbor to be  exact  and my sister and i wandered off down what we thought was a trail in the  woods  we were having so much fun exploring  that we lost track of time and where we were going out of nowhere this old woman appeared she said she knew who we were and said that she knew my mother when she was my age she told me that my sister and i were special and it was because of this that we came upon the very place we were at she said that my family was of the fae  i asked her what that meant but she did not say instead she told me and my sister to lie down in the moss beds  again i questioned her and she said that we were in a place of magic a sacred and very secret place and that we must do as she says like our mother had many years ago so i lied down and my sister

followed suit i noticed a big tree next to us with what looked like a deep hole in the ground at its roots  it frightened me alittle at first she must had noticed  because she said that we had nothing to be afraid of    she said now close your eyes and relax and that if your good girls and you doas i say the faeries willreward  you with a gift    i was so excited  i couldnt wait  i thought she meant something tangible  you know solid like a trinket of sorts    i swear to this day that woman read my thoughts because then proceded to tell us that it would not be like any gift we have ever had but a gift of knowing  i wanted to ask yet another question but quickly thought the better of it she said to listen to the sounds of the forrest and to breathe steady and and to just allow ourselves to just be she then said the hour of magic is near now you girls behave and do as i say and i will be back soon   i lay there for what felt like an eternity listening so intently everything hopeing with all my heart that

i would actually get to meet a real live faerie  many times ithought  they near but i could not be sure you see i was listening so very intently that i began to relize just how alive the forrest was the sounds of the wind trees  i mean everything seemed to have life a voice all wonderfully its own i got lost in the sounds that i barely noticed the faint whisperings that felt though it was  coming from allaround  i could not understand what the voices were saying  but i felt surrounded in love and warmth every nerve ending felt charged with electricty  almost tingly static hard to describe i imagined i was  surrounded  in a pale golden blanket of light mixed with purple blue and green silvery sparkles  it felt magical just like a faery tale i remember much after that point except hearing the woman tell us that  twilight  has passed and she best walk us home because my grandfather has begun to worry  30mins later we were back and although he was upset he didnt yell she told him that we were with her the whole
