You can start a topic about anything here that you would like to and our loving (and actually cool ) management will shift it to where your post is where your subject is a happening place, if there is a happening place for your subject.

Over time you will get a feel for the forums that you would like too and feel comfortable too hang out in. The other forums are cool also and should also be explored, but you are here because of your interests and your knowledges. And Mystic Board and all of us are glad that you are here to explore the adventure that we are all apart of.

I am interested in the way our culture is returning to mysticism under the rubric of "new age" and the relevance of elder studies such as astrology and the tarot for modern times.

Scarabcameo, I think the urge to understand everything is as old as the race. No matter what means we use, be it esoteric or scientific, we are always trying to understand the origin, cause and effect of everything that affects us directly.

I guess the choice of scientific vs esoteric depends on which brain side we use more. I used to explore everything from a scientific point of view till I found out its limits are those things they have been able to prove. Of course, there are many things we know about and cannot prove, but they still exist, even if science is a little slow in finding some answers. Also, the esoteric approach always leaves a sense of mystery, the unknown and unexplored that is highly intriguing and attractive in itself.

My two pennies worth  

When we find a way to marry science with religion (spirituality, etc.) we have a fuller picture of answers.  Somehow this life is meant to give us mysteries.  Perhaps it is what holds our interest for learning and growing?
