I find patience to be nothing but a lame excuse in the form of philosophy, to serve the purpose of hiding the failure to do/achieve something at the moment.

Hum, there are situations and situations... And sometimes it doesn't quite work like that.  

Beautiful quotes. I also think that Theodore Roethke's poem "The Waking" also fits nicely alongside these (from http://gawow.com/roethke/poems/104.html):

I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
