I am taking a college course of Astronomy. and just a moment ago, a thought ran across my mind. "I wonder if the separation of Church and State is the result of Astronomy splitting from Astrology"...hmmmm. think about it.

Astrology was a major part of religions in the past. But, someone or something (a king maybe). decided that the interpretations of planets was to 'out there'. Something more concrete was needed in it's place...enter Astronomy, which studies the stars and planets as solid objects, not divination tools.

I believe that the stars can tell us a story or two, I just don't understand it. The ancients trusted in it for some reason, The Bible also has references to Astrology.

And then we have the separation of Church and State, this seems very similar to me.

How about this one? Any thoughts?

It seems related. Church means circle by the way. So it's like saying the seperation of state from community. Or going from democracy to dictatorship.

People are probably harder to manipulate and control when they know what the stars are saying.

Also some people dislike astrology as it may tell them things their intuition was telling or is telling them that they have ignored or are ignoring. So people who say that their intuition is huey can easily wind up saying astrology is huey.

Well said. And I never heard anyone or read anything that stated that the word church meant circle. I can see a resemblance though, I will research it when I have time.
