Hahahahaha!
A mystic is evil until he promises God to not use his powers for himself? Is he good then if he has made the promise but fails to keep it?
What's wrong with using your skills and/or talents to serve your own interests?
Of course it costs a lot of energy to contain it - it always costs a lot of energy to work against yourself - try holding back from peeing and see what happens.

What important for me is, we must know the rule of acts & consequences. In Bharata Yudha, Arjuna was hesitant to fight. But Krishna advised & encouraged him to went to battle. For Krishna, those who has gathered in the battlefield were meant to be there & if anyone got killed, it was the way it should be. Just like Jesus said, "Any person who plays with the sword will die by the sword".
Lord Krishna himself when incarnated as Rama, killed Subali(brother of Sugriva/Hanuman) with an arrow. And as Krishna, he died in the hand of a hunter that shot him, who saw the leg of Krishna--that sitting under the tree--& think it was a deer.
Any act would have its own consequences, & have we realized it, & also prepared to accept it?
