Hi all.
I put this in general to hopefully get a lot of ideas.
If you have read "Hugs", you know a very responsible, careing, young gentalman needs some help.
Zoddn Drak just lost his mother, and is careing for himself and younger brother.
I am asking for ideas to help him cook more than some, in his words, almost, mushy rice type stuff.
Love you Tim.
Knowing this place, you will be overrun with ideas, and I'll get some new ones, LOL.
Thank you all for your input.
Lots of love to ya.
Karlene

Well im no wizz when it comes to cooking....I have a book called "4 Ingredients" it only uses 4 or less ingredients to make a meal......Umm,ok.
What about pumpkin soup....Quick,cheap and easy....
All you need is:
1/2 jap pumpkin, skinned and thinly sliced.
5 chicken stock cubes.
1 large brown onion.
Enough water to cover pumpkin.
Boil all ingredients until soft. Blend until smooth.....That is easy and yummy.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Creamy Meatballs.
750g of beef mince.
250g lite sour cream (psssst i use normal sour cream).
1 teaspoon sea salt.
1 teaspoon garlic powder.
Combine all except half the sour cream. Using a generous tablespoon, roll into balls. Brown in frying pan and then place in a casserole dish. Dilute remaining sour cream with 2 tablespoons of water. Mix well then spread over the meatballs and bake at 160C for 30 minutes....Have with mashed potato or noodles.....
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When i find some more decent ones i will post them.
Tamara :o)

To make bread/pizza base.
1) Sift 500 grms of bread flour along with salt into a bowl, pour in 2 good slugs of good olive oil; add 2 tea spoons of yeast to luke warm water + 1 tablespoon of sugar, leave this for 5 mins. until it froths then make it up to 325mls.
Tip the water/yeast into the flour mix and stir with a fork until mixed up.
2) Now comes the fun bit - flour your hands and get stuck in, flour a work surface and bash it about a lot!
3) Clean the bowl, run a drop of oil round it, bung the dough mix in and cover with oiled cling film and leave in a warm room until it doubles in size.
4) When doubles tip it back out onto the floured work surface and bash it about again.
5) Butter/oil a big enough container, stick it in and cover and leave until it raises again ( but not doubled), whack it in an oven heated to 175 leave until it looks the colour you want (tap it to make sure it sounds hollow).
If you want a good crust, tip it out, turn it over and stick back in with the oven turned off and cooling.
6) Leave on a wire tray until you can't resist eating it.
To make pizza base, divide unto 4 at no. 5 roll it out smother with tomato paste and whatever and cook.
Alternatively do up to no. 5 and you'll feel rested and you've had a workout and throw it away and do it again until you smile.
Fish recipe.
Catch/buy some perch/pike (any fresh water fish), clean and descale.
Scrub 2 deal boards until clean, place on either side of of the fish and wrap in a dampened muslin cloth.
Cook for 20 mins in a hot oven.
Remove the muslin and boards, throw away the fish and eat the wood and muslin - 'cos they taste better.
Sorry about that one - that was my Dads only recipe.
