These are all wonderful responses--thank you. I just came across a post from a new member--touchofjupiter--who has this line embedded in his/her (sorry, TOJ--I can't always tell by the posts!

) posts. I hope it's OK to paste it here; I think it's beautiful and very relevant to the discussion:

I just really wanted to open this up to everyone, rather than making it a back-and-forth between a few people, because, regardless of differences of opinion, I believe that it's really important to think about.

Please try to be as specific as you can with your answers--even with specific examples--because that always helps to make things more clear for everyone else!

Someone to be worthy being my guide.How will I know.I should listen to him/her and ask myself if it is that thing I mostly want for guidance.

Qualifications of a guide would depend on circumstances.In some cases where one is guiding you unknowingly in everyday life one might not be necessarily qualified.For example I learn from others' mistakes.The persons who made the mistake is not aware that he is helping me in that way.There are some who have to guide people knowingly.They should be qualified to a certain degree to give good guidance.For example like a teacher is teaching one how to meditate or healing or channeling.

These guides can be both living and spirit form.

About spiritual goals I think everyone knows his own.Each one got an important part to play.Many do know it but are not aware they know it.
