When you mention the word 'history' I think of the 'past' rather than the present. The Chinese are adapting to Western values more and more each year. I don't think that the past is really revelent to the present when you have a country as large as China (1.3 billion)trying to change and become a strong part of the global community. When you visit cities like Beijing or Shanghai Western business' are everywhere. i.e there are more than 50 McDonalds in Beijing alone along with Starbucks, Toys R Us, Pizza Hut, Burger King, and 100's of American clothing and department stores. I lived there from 2004-06 teaching Kindergarten English and I never saw anything that I didn't see here in America. I saw demonstrations and protests and the Police did nothing.
We shouldn't cloud our minds with the past but live in the present and embrace 'positive' change rather than dwell on the past.
As for the US . . . did we forget about Kent State?
Yes, I know it's 'your' opinion and this is mine.
