This is a wonderful topic! I think from what has been posted here it has mostly referred to birthmarks as being a person being reincarnated and they were marked coming in, as a sign as who they were in their past life.

In my youngest daughters birth it was more of an announcement this soul had arrived. My Dad, her grandfather, was a healer and very psychic. The evening after Michelle was born, my Dad went to his Spiritual Medium's Group for a weekly meeting. The spiritual Shaman told my father he had a 'new' granddaughter'. She winked at him and said, 'She does not come from here. She has a 'special mission' to give something to the earth. She has a large 'strawberry birthmarks' covering both of her eyelids. She has these birthmarks, so we will recognize her." She had them until she was 5 and they faded for adulthood.

When my Dad came over the next day, to see the new arrival, he came in and walked directly over to her, and laughed and was just beaming with light. He said, 'You are NOT going to believe THIS'. . .

My daughter was a top honor student, in Princeton. She refused to go to college and was emphatic about she did NOT need college. She is presently 38 yrs old, working at Home for IBM as a Technical Solutions Manager, has a six figure income and a husband, and 2 lovely daughters, with all the ammenities. She is creating computer technology/systems for large corporations. She is flown all over the world to meet with them and make them happy. I still believe in her field she will 'create something to benefit humanity'. She directed all her 'energy' into the 'material' world.

There is a flip side of that coin. All of the 'spiritual' she was accustomed to, has blown away in the wind. Her choice. When the 2 of us were survivors of hurricane 'Charley' her view of the world changed. . . BALANCE!
It has been a year, and her view of life has SO changed.

I am posting her thoughts at 3:00am on a sleepless night in a foriegn country, so an email to mom is the next best thing to being there. . . Here is the journey back home, at that moment. . . Maybe some of you will identify with some of these 'soul thoughts'. . .

Minutes, hours, days, months, years
Faster they fly as I get older
But I sit and wonder
A lifetime is Godâ€™s gift certificate
Spend it on whatever you like
With endless choices
Am I making the most of each moment?
What are the right choices now for my later?
Thereâ€™s no way of knowing where Iâ€™m going
I just pray that it is where Iâ€™m supposed to be
And when my precious gift is spent
The choices I didnâ€™t make wonâ€™t matter
Because the trip will end with peace
That comes with knowing the journey
Was just as important as the destination

Thereâ€™s a deep painful soul sob inside
Whenever I sit quietly and stop thinking
I donâ€™t know where itâ€™s from or what itâ€™s for
All I know is that it hurts
It has something to say without words
But I donâ€™t understand the message
The answer must be inside me somewhere
I donâ€™t know what Iâ€™ll find there
I donâ€™t know how or where to look
What happens if I fall apart when I find the source
How can I be so overwhelmed
By something I am so unaware of
Itâ€™s like dread, fear, grief, loneliness and hopelessness
Rolled together on a sesame seed bun with special sauce

There was a child who grew up too fast
Saw too much way too soon
She ran away in work, in accomplishment
Then became responsible for a family of her own
There could be no more running away.
So now there is the pain of running in place
Because all she knew was running.
In a family full of love or in a crowded room
She is lonely and alone,
Afraid and ashamed for no reason she can find
When will she find peace?

Not that we all don't have these feelings. . .
I believe that the Source of all this Pain, was a choice to direct all her energies into the 'Material world' and she LOST her 'connection' with 'her CREATOR'! The closer to God/Spirit we ARE the less the 'Aloneness'!
