The Tertiary Progressed Horoscope in Astrology

Whilst resting up after my replacement hip operation (due to secondary bone cancer), I've been reading a book called "Dynamic Astrology in the Light of Science" by Sven Frederik Fischer Svensson, ISBN 0 85435 065 9. Published in 1983, it was a culmination of some arduous investigative astrology that he'd started around 25 years earlier.

He wrote about a technique called Tertiary Progressions, discovered by Professor E.H. Troinski in 1951. It involves progressing the birthchart forwards in time based on independent directions of the Moon. The key is:One rotation of the Moon equals one rotation of the Earth. A tropical month is on average 27 days 7 hours 43 minutes, 4.7 seconds, or 27.3215821 days.

Using Tertiary Progressions, the studies Svensson gives on the Life and Death of King Haakon VII of Norway are intriguing and inspiring. So much so, that I decided I would try the Tertiary Progression technique to progress my birthchart to the day of my hip operation.

When I studied the resulting chart I was stunned. What follows is the chart and my analysis of it.

Analysis

• The Sun is in Capricorn (ostoelogy, orthopaedics) in the 10th house
expertise/authority) both ruled by Saturn (bones/skeleton). In fact, the
hospital in which the operation was performed at the UKs Orthopaedic
Research Institute and a European orthopaedic centre of excellence.

• The Sun in the chart rules the 6th house (health)

• Sun's dispositer is Saturn (bones/skeleton)
• Saturn is in the 8th house of surgery

• The ruler of the sign on the cusp of 8th house is Pluto (deep transformation,
surgical regeneration)

• Pluto is in the 6th house of health (Dramatic changes to health)

• Mars (blood, scalpels, incision, surgery, operations) in 8th house of surgery
and co-rules same house.

• Mars also rules 1st house (intercepted) of the physical body.

• Pluto (deep transformation) in square aspect to Saturn (bones) – dramatic
transformation of bones.

• Midheaven/MC is 26° 54' Sagittarius – the sign that rules the hips,
particularly the femur.
The Sabian Symbol for 27th degree of Sagittarius:The sculptor's vision is
taking form
.

• Ascendant/ASC is in Pisces (hospitals, hospitalisation)

• Moon is in own sign of Cancer – breast cancer, nurses, caring. (my cancer is
secondary breast cancer of the bones).

This whole chart just shouts orthopaedic surgery! If you have some good astrological software, why not try it out for yourself on some particularly eventful time during your life and see what comes up!

Hi CopperyClover,

I bet you would have liked to have known about this astrology prior to your replacement hip operation or did you?

Greetings:

I have a long habit of doing a solar return and progression each year around my birthday. Some years back I came across this technique of Tertiary Progressions. I tried it out both for my own chart and a couple dozen other charts I follow regularly and found little value to it. I still come across a few speakers that promote the technique and I have examined it from time to time, but I know of no astrologers who practice it. Personally I find progressions and secondary progressions far more useful. But that's just my opinion.
