I just finished browsing the new discussions on Past Lives, and the thought struck me that we can -- now, demonstrate scientifically, that reincarnation is not a theory, it is a fact.

Truthfully, each of us has 'reincarnated' many times during this lifetime. The 'structure' we inhabit is constantly being repaired and rebuilt. We all know the exchange of energy from the food we eat. The rate of replacement depends upon the level or 'bricks' of our construction.

For example, at the atomic level our electrons are in a constant flux of exchange. At the molecular level, I have read, that they are all replaced in a matter of ten months. The cellular level varies for different organs -- skin is 'cloud' (70 % of all household dust is made up of dead skin cells) -- but 'average' whatever that might mean seems to be around two years.

Which suggests that if you divided your age by two, that is (on the average) how often you have been COMPLETELY replaced.

Thje personality is, it seems obvious, patterns of emotional responses held in memory, which activate us, and these too change over time as our personalities change and matrue in time.

Even our sense of 'self' changes because this is oriented to the body and the mother (as an infant), changing to magic and mythology as a young child, and slowly developing a new 'self' centered around language and thought from 4 to 7.

To me, the main point here is this: since we have changed so many times, what prevents us from further evolution?

In fact, can we not say the the Tibetian Wheel of Life is really a record of how we form our persona during each lietime?

Maybe this could be a good topic for discussion?

reincarnation...as u have explained....at the atomic level.. seems so feasible.
but i have always been wondering:
If rebirth is a fact then
.... y do people remember some part of what they were in their past lives?
what makes them think of the past?..mayb some even dont.
mayb u can throw some light on this.

If one thinks about this matter at all, we exist only in the present moment. This we cannot doubt. And all else is memory (or anticipation based upon past memories).

The ego, we are told by psychuologists, is no more than a focal point -- on the sphere of the subconscious, hovering over some remembered event. In fact, it is memory that creates the illusion that the ego really exists.

My point is simple: all of our LIFE (as the ego knows it) are 'past lives'.

It seems equally obvious that Nature depends on MEMORY so she can recapitualate Her past triumphs and the entire history of evolution. And memory depends on matter and form. Scientists now refer to DNA and genes -- which are symbols for this needed memory.

Are these eternal? Good question. These records last long enough for us to gain some confidence that we can trust to Nature to continue to recreate us and nourish us all.

You asked about memories of past lives. Who would know? I have had several spontaneous recalls, that seemed real and had personal meaning for me as an individual. So have several friends and acquaintances.

The Cabala talks about a 'red thread' which carries the records of our past lives. It is my understanding that Yoga speaks of a 'thread soul' -- a sort of thread on which are strung the beads of all our lives.

In the Tarot -- the Fool key represents The One Consciousness coming down from above for another incarnation. He carries a wand and that wand holds a satchel. And inside that satchel is all the individual soul has learned during its many incarnations.

I just remembered an incident during which I sat in the corner on the floor while a friend enjoyed a past life process. I got caught up in the process and never heard what happened to her. I myself went back to the Civil War in the U.S. where, at the age of 15, I fought on the Northern side.

That entire lifetime played back for me.

I remember the process and could post it if others would like to try it for themselves.
