hello all,

i was wondering if anyone has ever heard of  being born with the mark or sign of a witch?

my mother told me years ago that she was born with a little sack attached to her skin. In the sack was extra finger nails and hair. I'm pretty sure she told me that was considered the mark of a witch. of course it was just snipped off at birth.

Today when i ask her about it she denies ever saying anything about the witch part. She doesn't deny the sack part.

I guess i shouldn't say she deny's it, it makes it sound like i think she's lying and i don't. I just don't know how i would come to that conclusion on my own. It was so long ago, about 25yrs. so it's hard for me to remember. This is just something that has always bothered me.

I was telling my hubby about your post.. He said it sounds like your mom had a twin~?? or was a twin I mean.. This is the first time hearing this. I have to ask my Gypsy freinds also... Thanks for posting..  

I have a friend, her little girl has an extra thumb~!! I was told that meant a real witch too..~?? I don't know..
I did met her little girl OMG~!! She has dark red hair, and brown eyes that look right though you.. he-he~!!
She loveddd my husband... She was so sweet. but had that look about her also..lol

maybe a witch is born with an extra finger... but that doesnt mean all those born with extra fingers are witches, right??

buying into all those superstitions of the past to me!  Remember that before modern medical knowledge anything different was considered to be an aberation to fear!  Being a witch was one way of saying a baby was born different.
