“Spirit messages have a three-fold purpose in regard to human life; a demonstration of the continuity of life; the consolation of the sorrowing and the furnishing of instruction, inspiration and practical help in the upbuilding of character.”   The article continues to make a point that “nearly all messages of the average séance and circle are made to run along lines of temporal interest, pleasure, profit and selfish interests, rather than spiritual growth and unfoldment…Prophecies are given out and pledges of aid made which, alas, too often fail of fulfillment…Advice on law, medicine, mining stocks, love, marriage and divorce, the finding of lost articles or animals” are concerns “for experts and counsellors here upon the earth plane and not for departed friends, many of whom were entirely ignorant on these lines when on earth have not qualified since.”  He concludes the article “Spiritualists should use the spirit messages for spiritual instruction, inspiration and comfort and teach their followers to use their own reason and judgment on material affairs.”


"The sitters may dominate the conditions of the circle and render it difficult for lofty thought and exalted sentiment and teaching to find _expression in the low vibration of the circle."  Also the communicating spirit is "on too low a plane intellectually or spiritually to transmit a spiritualizing message." or mediums may also "be unfitted intellectually or morally or instrumentally as a channel for communication of an exalted character.  Whatever the cause, the general tone of spirit messages is such that they often fail to attract and very frequently repel enquirers who drop into the séance or the circle."

Speaking of spirits....I have heard that dogs bark at spirits when they are barking aimlessly(supposedly) is it true?????

Animals are very sensitive to spirit because they are intuitive based.  From the strongest they go: horse, cat, dog, monkey, then into more wild animals.  Yes, a dog does know the spirit is there.

Wow!!!!!! So dogs do bark at spirits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and all this while i thot it was a rumour
