You should be very careful what you wish for--sometimes you get it.
Do you mean a true karmic soulmate? These relationships tend to be stormy, challenging, as both parties enter into it with a lot of karmic baggage.
If you mean a soulmate as in some sort of idealized, pink-cloud, stress-free relationship, I fear you will be disappointed.
In my experience, the best way to prepare oneself for a relationship is to become self-sufficient.

A bit late on the post but if your still looking: get a rhodochosite, it attracts soulmates. But remember a soulmate is someone that helps us learn lessons in our life so it may not be all that you think it may be. Rose quartz also attracts love into our lives and we could all use more of that.
