Dear Pegasus,

You do not state whether you live in your own home, a rented home or an apartment.

If you live in your own home and the bath room has an outside wall - break through and put a window.  Dark bathrooms are not only gloomy, but a breeding ground for bacteria and fungus...not a healthy place at all if it's all stuffy and closed up.

If you live in a rented home - ask your landlord to make the necessary alteration.  If he doesn't want to, point out the health hazard to him.

If you live in an apartment, there is not much you can do except looking for new accomodation where you can have light and fresh air circulating.

Nothing else will work...any other "remedy" is at best only partially effective and at worst only cosmetic.

If you really are looking for just a "do it yourself - quickfix", you can try putting a mirror against one wall (covering most of the wall)... It will give the illusion of a bigger room and any available light will be doubled.

You can also place moisture absorbing agents in the corners of your bathroom, disguising them behind a pot plant or something else, to absorb extra moisture so that fungus cannot grow. Remember to change them regularly.

Always make sure that after you have showered or bathed, that you have dried the floor and take wet towels out to dry where there is light and air...

That's about all the advice I can give.....  good luck

Thanks for your quick reply Its our own house but knocking a window in a wall is impossible (no outside wall)

Here are some photos of the bathroom ......If I can make it more Feng Shui...able I will.

Have you thought of a roof light?  I have one in my bathroom.  We knocked a hole through and extended it with extra walls, then placed windows in with a small roof on top.   I have a flat roofed house though...  Perhaps that is a possibility?
