I'm new to FS since Aug '07, I've joined a few forums but the universal thing I keep finding is the contradiction on topics. I also wonder about the plant question. Do the plants have to be outside on the porch/stoop or on the inside? Also, can anyone explain for me use of colors in rooms? This is also another topic I can't get a straight answer on. I don't understand how the color of a wall/carpet has no effect on the flying stars in a sector but placing a pillow or another object of a certain color to represent an element can. Isn't a wall much bigger than a silly knick knack?

based on some readups, i would heavily suggest consultation of a fengshui master or some serious readups before setting up aquariums in your house.  Some positions may clash with inauspicious directions based on the flying star theory and do  more harm than good.

For example, some websites heavily discourage setting up of water features in the west of the house and bedrooms.
