Its been awhile (over a year) since I've had this dream, but its been the only time I've seen these symbols...

I'm in a grocery store and see a blond woman I use to know but haven't seen in many years. She is somewhat in the distance. I then see myself holding a stick of butter and I began to eat it. All of a sudden these 2 men, who I don't know, appear. 1 of them is holding a glass of milk. For some reason he throws the milk at my face. And that's how the dream ended.

I know there a lot of online dream dictionaries and that there are different meanings for each symbol, but can anyone suggest how they all relate? Thanks for your help!

A food dream!

Food is nutricious. We need it to stay alive, to be healthy. When you're hungry and eat, it gives a sense of fulfillment. So, often a food dream is about an emotional or physical need that you need to fulfill. What it is that you were after a year ago becomes more clear by inspecting the food. We see butter, which stands for gratification and indulging yourself in a bit of pleasure. Seems obvious to me that the blonde woman was related to that need for gratification and indulgence. And since she was an existing person from your past, it suggests that you were feeling a desire for her, and the need for gratification rose because she was distanced from you. (you eat the butter when you realize she's further away from you than you'd like)

Milk has plenty possible meanngs, but the way it was offered to you is of possible interest to know it's meaning. Splashing someone in the face with a drink is like a wake up call, or an insult. But since you describe being surprised by it rather than insulted, I'd opt for the wake up call. The wake up call happens after you somehow try to gratify your longings for this woman who you saw as beyond your reach. One of the meanings for milk is nourishing domestic relations. If we combine that with a wake up call or splashing it in your face, it's almost as if the dream was saying... "hey, you got a good thing where you are now." Since you don't drink the milk but it is spilled all over your face, it also could have the connotation "not to cry over spilled milk," don't ponder anymore over opportunities lost.

The number two (the number of men) seems to stand out, and might hint at a partnership you already had.

Hope that makes more sense to you
