Hi Rook
First of all congratulations.
I do not pretend to have any knowledge of dream analysis, but in the pat you have tried to help me make sense of a couple of my dreams and I just felt I wanted to contact you and comment on your dream and situation.
I firstly googled dreams and Parasites and they are indicative of a loss of vitality and feeling physically drained. Sadly never having children myself, I cannot speak with any authority but I would expect that thi pretty much describes how you would feel in the latter stage of pregnancy. If so it must be daunting to conider that this is only likely to become worse when actually giving birth, maybe thi is reflected in
'I don't pull them all out, and don't know if I am capable of getting them all out. It feels as if there are too many of them.'
But my instinct before doing the initial look up, is that perhap sub consciously you have fears about the prospect of the imminent birth of another child (imagery to the host of a parasites 'worms') and the effects that it will have on your energy and life. It is interesting that you say that the dream occurs outside your office building. Do you enjoy your career/job, and will the prospect of bringing up 2 children affect your ability to work in the future, and do you have regrets about thi. However on the other hand you could be seeing your children as a way of leaving a job that is draining you.
Overall however I think this dream suggests that you have overwhelming feelings in relation to bringing a new child into this world and all that this entails, and your own abilities to cope with this on all levels.
I hope both you and your son are in good health and wish you and your family every happiness.

Hey snowdrop
Thanks, I think you have given good guidance on this one now that I think about it. This was pre-birth, and I certainly had concerns that having another child may be draining on my energy. Truth is asides from sleep deprivation my second son is an angel. My first screamed the second he woke up and didn't stop till he got fed, and my partner really struggled to provide quality milk and had severe issues with that. Not so this time around.
That could have been a good symbol for a parasite in the draining sense. In terms of work I do find it draining on my family time. Mainly because I have upwards of an hour travel time to and from work, have to drop the daughter off at school in the morning meaning I can't work early, which means I get home late, and not long after I get home the kids have to go to bed. Hence I don't get any real quality play time till the weekends, and those are usually chokkers with other activities... Also draining on my work as my partner doesn't have her license so when they need to go to the doctors I have to stay home from work, which removes all my leave so I don't get to use my leave as I would like. So it sort of works both ways. But also little things at work also stress me out 'get under my skin' that give me tension. Need to stop caring about work as much as I do.

Hi Rook
Firstly, I am glad that things are a little easier in the care of the second son, and secondly I'm glad that my interpretation has helped a litttle.
I must admit, I did think you were 'Mum'.... But actually I can understand the relationship of the dream more to a partners role.
It is hard when you feel that you are spreading yourself so thinly... and frustrating for you too. I am always amazed how quickly most families are able to adapt to changes in their situation, but no doubt there are things that are pushed into the background, and there is so very little personal time. I hope it will not be too long until you acheive a little more balance in your life.
It is hard when you are 'hunter/gatherer', having to work to live, which in my book is much more healthy than living to work, especially when you are at a low ebb, making these 'little things at work' that stress you, even more difficult to deal with. It is good that you 'care' about work, but not to the detrement of your own health and wellbeing. I expect you are able to manage big problems but it's the little irritating unimportant ones that are doing the damage, take a step back, exactly how important are they, take a deep breath and move on. You will work much more effectively if you can do so. I know it is easy to say... but sometimes for your own sanity you have to.
Well it is the weekend... have a lovely one with your family and if you get 5 minutes to yourself all to the good. I hope this response doesn't sound too 'trite'.
With very best wishes to you all
Snowdrop
