Okay...  Here's the strangest one yet!  LOL  I've been dreaming about my romantic interest lately..  A LOT lately!!  Some dreams sexual in nature, some dreams just sweet..  But last night, I dreamed that we were Fred and Wilma Flinstone!  LOL  But it was sort of like a costume thing..  Like for Halloween or something...  But we were LIVING it!  But what is strange, we were pulling out these different 'props' and such, and out came a pair of oven mitts fitted with velcro...  and what went with it was an arm cover with more velcro that had little plush 'boulders' (sort of like nerf balls)...  It was like it was some sort of game...  <confused frown>  I wore the arm cover with the 'boulders' on my left arm, and with the oven mitt, I was suppose to 'rip' off a boulder and throw it an my opponent...  The secondairy use for the oven mitt was to catch my 'boulders' as they were thrown back at me...  But Fred (Ryan) wasn't my opponent...  He and I were team-mates...  But we didn't have any opponents!?

unfortunately, I didn't get to 'finish' my dream as my son took that moment to come barging into my room and jump on me!  LOL  (Don't you just LOVE the tenacity of a 3 year old?!)

So what do you think?!  I'm starting to think that there's something REALLY wrong with my nocturnal brain!  LOL  It just doesn't make any sense to me anymore!  LOL

There is nothing wrong with your mind.  Dreams are puzzles which can be particularly difficult to put together.  But once you get that key it all somehow manages to click into place like you wouldn't believe.  Still blows my mind the wisdom that I read when SweetSunRay (or as I prefer, the keymaster) presents their incredible insights into my life.

Also, to talk of my messed up dreams... when I embarked upon the concept of the anima (or my inner feminine side) I had a dream where I became the first FEMALE president of the United States of America (even though I am an Aussie and male) by throwing a baseball through a window of the White House.  The baseball is often a symbol of feminine aspects, coming in through the window I saw as symbolic of coming into my conscious awareness, and the female president because I was allowing my inner feminine side to start taking more of a leading role in my life.  United States I felt was a key in that it is that union / balance of feminine / masculine that is the ideal.

I would hazard a guess that Wilma and Fred could perhaps symbolically represent the traditional archetypal married couple / relationship (of the 80's?).  Thus it could be a dream as an expression of the potential type of relationship you could possibly enter into were you to be with this man.

Sometimes people 'play games' in the dating world as we get to know each other.  Could this be a reflection of the game you are playing in the dream?  Perhaps feminine issues could be important here.  You are wearing an oven mit (perhaps related to the traditional role of the female as cook) and throwing the balls / boulders as symbolic of the feminine.  Is this the sort of 'role' you want to play?  You seem to enjoy it in the dream.

Now the deep bit that I see anyhow.  You are playing a game, but against what?  There is no opposition.  Fred and Wilma do have the occasional tiff, so they are both the opponent and the teammate.  But external to your relationship there is nothing opposing this.  So what is holding you back?

I would like to add to Rook's suggestions... I agree with the "playing games". I would even take it farther. You mention you're Wilma and Fred but like they're Halloween costumes. It suggests to me that you both are acting/pretending the part of what you perceive traditional gender roles while dating. You both seem to have fun at it, but perhaps it's time to reveal more of the real you?

My relationship with Ryan...  We have fallen into 'traditional' gender roles...  I am
currently a full-time Mother of 3 wonderful YOUNG sons...  So I don't work...  He
tends to pay for everything when we go out on our dates... (Even though I have,
on more than one occasion, offered to take care of that!  He always insists!)  And
ironically, I have asked him to let me cook him dinner, but we have yet to actually
connect with that!  LOL  His work always seems to get in the way!  LOL

What is keeping us apart or holding us back... <sigh>  Certianally not me!  LOL
His family in Montana, on the other hand, may be a problem...  Which would also
explain why there are no 'obvious' opponents in my dream, but that I seem to be
prepairing for war (so to speak)...

I would say that we both do seem to enjoy 'playing' our traditional gender roles...
But I am looking to branch out into a career field...  I start school this Spring in
Cosmotology...  So I'll soon be the working Mom!  LOL  I'm actually really looking
forward to it!  So maybe that is why it seems that we are in the Halloween Costumes...?
To add to the 'traditional gender roles'...  Ryan strikes me as a "Man's Man"...  And
although I am a bit more 'ruged' than the traditional "Stepford Wife", I try to fill the
shoes!  LOL  (I just try to be a touch more realistic!  LOL)  So maybe this dream fits
my life a bit more than the craziness I first imagined it to be!  LOL

interpretations!!  I really enjoy your input!!

And sitting here thinking about it...  There WAS another dream I had a few nights
ago that I have been thinking about...  It took place with me in my car, talking to
Ryan on the phone...  For whatever reason, he was home with my children, and I was
out running errands, or something...  But while I was talking to him he said, "Rocco!
I told you to stop that!  If you don't start listening, I'm going to have to make you
behave!  Is that what you want?!" (Rocco is my oldest son, and I find myself speaking
to him in this same manner...  Firm, distinctively authoritive...  No non-sense... Rocco
tends to be a handful!)  In my dream, I didn't seem bothered or upset that he was
addressing my son in such a manner...  In fact, I offered up suggestions to how to
keep him in line... hhmmm....

I remember, when I woke up, finding myself wondering how my ex would feel if he
ever knew that Ryan spoke to our son that way...  Which is odd, as Ryan hasn't actually
met our children yet...  (Something that we've {Ryan and myself} been discussing a
lot lately...)  perplexing...

Any ideas?

I was thinking about your interpretations...  The feminine...  Ryan is a Piscese...  and
quite in touch with his emotions...  could this add more to the feminine?  Just curious...
