| A couple of nights ago I had a strange and scary dream. I dreamt about a woman, and I could see what she saw, hear what she heard, and felt what she felt (I never saw myself anywhere in the dreams). To make a long story short, the woman was a prostitute and she got kidnapped by a man. He held her hostage in his basment. He kept her there basically as a sex slave. It was a very scary dream, I was so scared by it I forced myself to wake up and stay awake. Any ways i've never not been in my own dreams, and I think that was kind of weird. Has anyone else ever had dreams like this? |
Johnswifey, your dream situation is interesting. My "guess" is that you are up against something that is not normal in your reality as a person/personality.
Dreaming is generally one's subconscience mind sorting things out. Processing information, so to speak. But sometimes dreams foretell the future or the present, which is what when it comes to dreams, makes things abit tricky.
May I ask you this, "Why again did this particular dream scare you?"
And may I ask you this, "What TV programs do you watch?" TV programs can affect your dreams.
I also think that what you have experienced in a dream reality is significant and should be explored.
Guys? She is asking and considers things real. She came to Mystic Board for input.

Actually, yes, I've had dreams where the lead (I) was not me. Only time it's kinda awkward for me is when it's a male character: like a sailor on a ship wreck and beaching on the New World, a Spanish South American explorer in the Amazone, and I was Tom Cruise once chasing aliens (War of the Worlds type of thing, even though I never saw the movie),... and regularly I'm Ripley killing Aliens.
But now to your dream and what it MAY mean. If I had dreamt it, first of all I'd see the lead being me anyway, even if it wasn't me. It's just that perhaps my dreaming mind thinks its best to come to understand the message of the dream by not being myself, and so forced to distance myself from my traps and fears, and perhaps therefore more able to accept what is actually going on. For example with Ripley and the aliens, the aliens stand for everyday tasks and schedules I hate doing until they pile up (and then I'm very good at forgetting and ignoring them too). So, Ripley personna comes out and deals with them all at once. I interprete it such a lead as me, simply because usually I find that every character, even if I'm in the dream myself, often stands for a part of myself that is trying to block or help me.
So, if I had dreamt about a prostitute I would think I'm having the need to explore my sexuality, exploring a sexual freedom my waking conscious would judge to be shameful levels, aside from love relationships. It might also indicate that I'm in a waking situation where I feel I'm selling myself emotionally or morally.
Life can kidnap you once in a while. You think and expect a certain continuum of events, and all of a sudden it's as if life picks you up and puts you on another path without you having any control over it. That is essentially what the kidnapper does: takes you from one state in the dream and transports you to another place.
You end up in the basement... the basement stands for your unconscious state, your level of satisfaction, and in relation to this dream: primal urges, animalistic desires and basic needs... sexual needs, as the sex-slave confirms.
Conclusion: everything about this dream suggest you're afraid to face your sexual needs - you're another woman, not yourself, a shameful prostitute and a forced sex slave in the primal basement. You're so afraid of this part of yourself that you even wake yourself up from it and don't dare to fall asleep anymore. But these needs are so basic that eventually you'll have to face them.

sunray I tried to be gentle, but what you said needed to be said
And there is still the question about whether or not she is picking up, in a psychic sense, a cry for help from another person who is need of help?
just something,

Dream Symbol:
Woman - foreshadow of intrigue
( do you "know" what color the woman's hair was? The hair color helps define what KIND of intrigue)
For a young woman to dream of a prostitute - fortells that she will deceive her lover as to her purity or candor.
( Your profile says you are 23 years of age)
For a young woman to dream of a (ugly) man - she will experience trouble through someone she considers a friend.
( Again, your profile says you are 23. Also I chose the "ugly" definition based on the man's actions in kidnapping, holding, and killing)
To dream that you are in a basement - fortells that you will see prosperous opportunities abating, and with them, pleasure will dwindle into trouble and care.
To dream of joyless sexual relationships - it is a warning that you will be contemplating some undertaking, which, if carried out, will steep you in disgrace and guilt.
(Definitions for sex slave)
For a young woman to dream of feeling fear from any cause - forebodes disappointment and unfortunate love.
(Definition selected due to your age)
Divination:
You are contemplating involving yourself in a subterfuge, most likely of an intimate or romantic nature. In doing so you will have to employ deceit with a loved one in your immediate sphere of life - most likely a current romantic involvement. Should you chose the path you are considering, you will be betrayed by someone you consider a friend and the consequences from your possible action(s) will be dire and dear. My advice to you is "look before you leap"!
From my website:
** Oneiromancy is a form of divination based upon dreams; it is a system of dream interpretation that uses dreams to predict the future. This practice is based on the belief that dreams are messages sent to the soul by gods or the dead, most often as warnings. **

| I am looking to open up whatever abilities I have. Are there specific meditations or any specific things I have to do to open up or gain those psychic abilities? I am really desperate for answers so if you don't mind and if you have time can anyone who reads this please help me out? thank you! |
I am going to assume you employed some of the tips given to you from this posting. Especially since you stated that the dream above occurred a couple of nights ago, well after this post, and that it never happened to you before. Based on your dream, your post, and the definition of Oneiromancy, I would say you definitely have a latent talent in Mediumship.
Other possible skills you may have are: Precognition and/or remote viewing.
Normally, I charge $20 for Dream Divination but I felt compelled to do one for your post. Especially since it seems you are just now embracing the realm of Metaphysics. I hope this posting gives you some direction and reassurance. It would be wonderful if you could join my website and leave a Testimonial for me under Dream Divination on my Forum.
Blessed Be and Best Wishes!
