In the movies, and in shows you always see people having dreams about there spirit guide showing them what there life would be like or showing them something they should see. Has anyone had a dream about meeting there spirit guide? I never have, but I want to know if it's just in the movies or people really can dream and meet there spirit guide.

I have yet to meet my Spirit Guide.  When doing research on how to accomplish this through meditation, I did read that some people will meet them in dreams.  Since I've never met mine I am unsure as to what information they give.

YES!

It has definitely happened many times that people have met their spirit guide in a dream, but if it is meant to happen at this time in your life it could possibly happen either this way or alternately through other various methods, including a meditation technique which is especially designed to bring this meeting about sooner rather than much later, instead of waiting for it to happen spontaneously as they often show happening to other people in the movies.

Also it is possible to use either prayer or a form of self hypnosis to increase the chances that your spirit guide will appear to you in a dream either that night or a later one.

Sometimes it has happened that once a person has intentionally met his or her guide by one of these methods, they then realise in hindsight that they have already met them in a dream but did not realise it at the time it actually happened.

But it is my belief that your spirit guide who is with you from before your birth until after your death is the best person to know when the time is right for you to meet him or her.

Also there are many famous and highly successful psychics and mediums in this world whom will probably never know who there guide is, but this does not prevent them from doing their spiritual work to the very best of their natural psychic abilities.

Do not become too obsessed with discovering who your guide is, but allow your guide to decide this in your own best interests as to the exact timing, or indeed whether it would be to your advantage at all to know their name.

Evidently I myself am of those people who would be disadvantaged and held back from my proper development as an effective reader by knowing my guide's name.

I do not allow it to stop me helping as many people on these Mystic Board forums as I am able to in the time which has been given to me to do so, so my advice to most younger people would be to leave it mainly up to their own guide as to deciding if and/or when the time is right for them to know his or her identity.

Hmmm... yes I saw some of my spirit guides in a dream once. But I first met my major spirit guide in a trance during a sense of life crisis after I cried out loud for help me to the ceiling. I knew already how to meditate, but it was the surrendering to the universe in despair that forced him to introduce himself to me: name, his own history, his task, how I was connected to him, the whole deal. He introduced me to the others who are either above him or under him and are involved in my life in the meditations afterwards: name and tasks. In the short aftermath of that period I had a profound dream both about the past events that led to the crisis as well as the then present of what choices I wanted to make. In the past part I saw two women chatting with each other, sisters, while watching over a child in a babycart as guardians. A man wheeled the cart away and they let him. The baby was a representation of myself. So, that dream showed me that meeting that time in my life which led to the crisis happened under the surveillance of my guardians, and was supposed to happen, and thus including the crisis.
For the first while my major spirit guide was so close to me that I could feel his presence constantly, and even was able to have him be of assistance during a removal of a crumbled wisdom tooth. The dentist even exclaimed what a miracle it was she had been able to pull it out so smoothly.
But over the years of my spiritual growth, I have had to learn to stand on my own two legs and guide myself more and more. He is there if I want to connect, but rarely out of a guidance point anymore. He's not likely to tell me what to do anyway anymore. It's more out of friendship that we connect.

Basically, depending on the stage of your life and growth you are meant to know them or not. Most of the time they prefer you not to know them. Especially because they change or may be there just temporarily. Only very dire need (and not wishing) will make them come forward, and then they will guide you openly so that you don't need them anymore for life decisions.

I think I saw my spriit guide in a dream.   He looked like gollum from Lord of the Rings, but more cute  and playful.   He told me not to lose hope as he was saying this he was rolling around on my bed like animal he was.   It was cute but strange!    I wish he would come in my dream more often to tell me specificlaly what to do wiht my life.
In a way I don't want to meet them, sometimes I even think maybe they do not exisit afterall.   But I don't know.
