I had a dream I was moving and all I had was clothes. An old friend/coworker that I haven't seen for a while was helping me. He said I needed to get rid of the stuff I don't wear anymore. I picked up an old pair of plead pants and holding them up to me and walking around and laughing at them. Then I was talking to my ex who was sitting in the passenger side of a car and I picked up a crab off the ground and held it up to her and telling her to touch it but she didn't want to. The crab had legs like a tarantella and I said watch and touched it and it would pull itself in the shell. That's all I can remember of the dream

Tenacity is a measure of your ability to hold on, regardless of how adverse your circumstances might be.

If you have ever gone fishing and caught a crab on your hook, you will know how well and for just how long they can hold on for dear life with their sharp claws, and will not let go no matter what you do to try to dislodge them.

Some might regard us holding onto something too hard and for too long as tenacity, while others might view the same thing in a more negative light as sheer stubbornness and us resisting the inevitable.

Your final interpretation of the meaning of the crab in your dream is therefore largely dependent on your personal point of view or way of looking at the things or people in your life to which or whom you hold on so hard, and for so long.

Adding to Eye of the Tiger's words...This is how I would interprete it if I had dreamt it... so I may be off...

The moving and getting rid of old clothing is the direct signal to 'move on', shed yourself of your old life. You can apparently even laugh at some of it now. The next part shows you what you're trying to hold onto, what it is you need to let go: the ex girlfriend following you and doing as you want her to.

Did you 'retreat into your shell' at all regarding the breakup of your ex (and perhaps she didn't because she won't make the crab retreat into the shell)?  Just a thought.  I agree with sunray in the symbology of the clothes.  Getting rid of old emotional hangups surrounding the ex.  Time to come out of the shell, overcome any emotional hangups there and move on (don't just forget the emotions, overcoming them is different to moving them to the back of the mind).
