I believe only you can reuly understand what this dream means to you. However, sometimes speaking with others about a dream which has us perplexed can shed some light on its meaning.

Ask yourself what a "beard" means to you. A beard could be a mask of some sort. Or it may symbolize masculinity.

In your dream your mother is worried about your having grown a beard & takes you to the doctor. Many dream experts say that each & every character, human & non, which appear in our dreams, represents part of ourselves. So your mom would represent your feminine side. Or your maternal side. The doctor may represent your rational, analytical side. The doctor says that it's only an "infection". How did you feel when he told you this? Poets, philosophers & song-writers often say that falling in love is like a "disease", an "infection" or like "catching a cold". Maybe you feel "infected" by your love for your boyfriend or his love for you?

Then you see yourself again with a beard & you visit your boyfriend who is also having the same experience. He touches your beard & it falls away. How did you feel when he was caressing your beard? Did you feel anxious? Did you feel perhaps relieved when you saw it falling out? What did you do afterwards? Did you touch your face to feel your smooth feminine skin? Did you thank your boyfriend or kiss him?

Since you & your boyfriend were both experiencing this phenomenon & the doctor told you not to worry that it was only an "infection" I wonder if there is some part of you which feels she is giving up too much of herself in the relationship? Like you are turning into your boyfriend in some respects in order to please him? But your boyfriend touches your face & makes the beard fall away. This to me means that you can be who you truly are & your boyfriend is okay with that. You don't need to lose yourself in the relationship in order to make him happy.
