last night I had a very strange dream...even for me.

I was sitting on a swing with my little sister. It was sunny and warm outside with a slight breeze . As my sister and I were talking I was peeling my eyes. Like layers coming off....each layer was a diffrent color. She took my hand once my eyes were a deep shade of purple. She told me to stop that enough had come off. THen I woke up for a little while. Then went back to sleep to have my recurring dream again....I woke this morning confused and my eyes hurt. Any insight would be wonderful.

I have an idea but I want to see what others think....

Peeling your eyes can represent you dissecting, pondering, and realizing the realities around you, and how the world is not what it may seem, but that it is a perplexing, unnerving place.  You feel like your realization of the world around you makes you a stronger person, and you hope that your little sister will look up to you.  Instead of praising you for your "enlightenment" she tells you to stop and go no further.  This is your higher self warning you to enjoy life and stop over thinking everything.  A carefree attitude is best sometimes.  Let out your inner child and have fun!

First off the dream environment seems to be very positive - the bright shiney sun and nice weather.

The swing I could see as representing so many different things.  How it relates to the dream you will probably know best.

If you are swinging:

I would say perhaps it relates to some area in your life where you are going back and forth, it may be related to aspect of yourself in your sister or perhaps your relationship with your sister.  You may be going backwards and forwards looking at this issue through different colours.

The swing could also be a symbol of leisure and fun, or perhaps positive aspects from your childhood.  Are you looking at your past in 'different colours'?  Purple is a royal colour, and a colour of mystery / intuition but may also have other personal associations (eg the colour of this forum).  This could relate to your sister telling you that you have peeled enough off - perhaps it is saying it is time to have a break from this.

The swing could potentially also symbolise freedom, almost like flying.

Peeling off skin can symbolize renewal, and eyes are what give us sight. So renewing the way you see things. The layers could also be protective filters that have kept you from seeing some things till you were grounded enough, mature enough or developed enough to handle seeing such things. I think I've heard babies see in black and white till their eyes develop more. You eyes could be growing to see more.

Children have a very different way seeing things from adults often, and they can be very wise. Your sister could be showing you a new way to view the world.

Purple is a color of protection. It is also the color of the third eye. Your third eye could be opened or developed further. The third eye has a gland that releases anti-aging agents. Your sister could be showing you how to tap into this. It's simple to observe that young people have clear foreheads and old people don't.

I heard a purple or violet flame can turn any energy into positive. Perhaps a purple lens could turn any sight into a positive one.

The other twist to this dream is that by peeling off layers in your eyes, you are understanding more about certain things, or certain things are becoming clearer each time, hence why the layers.  As for the colours, the purple does represent royality, but it is also a representation of your sense of individually, to link the both you are now starting to understand your sense of individually.  The swings could represent you are swinging to the past and to the future, are you uncertain of where to 'go' now?  Or afraid to move forwards as it means leaving the past behind, and afraid of staying with the past as it would stop you moving forwards?

Your sister's hands is also a symbol of 'holding on', maybe she isn't ready to move forwards as you are hence why she is telling you to stop removing the layers.
