There you go. Your dreaming mind already knows that you are presently trying to work a lot on doing just that, and is showing it's support and encouragement for your ongoing efforts to improve the quality of all your relationships, including but not confined to those of a romantic nature.

The idea is that even your friendships will be improved by you becoming more aware of these qualities (represented in your dream by a dog) which are already within you, and by then developing them to an even greater level than you have up until now.

There could hardly be better evidence than this that at least some of our dreams are in direct response to what we are presently working on in our waking life, and are supporting us in our efforts to make these improvements in it's overall quality.

Keep up the good work, as the joy this will bring you in the future will eventually reward your efforts to make such improvements many times over.
