Why do I wake up before experiencing sexual activity?

It's like that in all or most of my dreams. I can talk to the man and everything but when I even kiss him or get too close, I start feeling that certain "disconnect" like I'm about to wake up.

When it goes further, like right before sex, I wake up. Why does this happen to me?

I've had sex in my dreams probably once or twice.
But I've had oral sex a few times.
And I kiss often. But never sex.
In every dream, I feel a STRONG bond with the person also. The bond that when you wake up, you still can feel. It's scary how close I feel to these men in my dreams, but I never have sex with them...well I Can't because I wake up before I do.

What the heck does this all mean?

It suggests to me that at 17 years of age as with many young people of your age group as well as many others who are much younger or older, you are extremely uncomfortable with your sexual feelings, even if you are only experiencing them within your dreams at the time.

Your unconscious unwillingness to accept (or difficulty in accepting) the complex and confused nature of your feelings about your own sexuality is being expressed by you being rudely jolted out of your sleep state before you are able to act upon them.

Not only are sexual dreams especially common to teenagers because of their bubbling hormones and the likely absence of a suitable partner, but sleep researchers have discovered that whatever happens within the dream state can often also lead to a state of advanced sexual arousal which is clearly physically visible to anyone who is observing them, especially in the case of a male individual.

The most likely thing which caused you to prematurely wake up was unnecessary guilt for feeling this way, when it is a very common but frustrating experience for so many of your peer group.

Thnx for the interpretation. Now, in my waking life, I'm ery comfortable with my sexuality. I am a very sensual person and like sex to a certain degree BUT in my mind (Or heart), I really don't want to have sex at all. It could be that I'm just so young an age where my needs are more focused internally, (I'm really focused on Finding myself first), that I don't want to have sex. But I have had sex in waking life, probably too many times I really wanted to. My ONLY conscious regret in my life is having sex all those tims. I started at 13 yrs old, just to give u a view on the situation. And to others, I am very cute and what-not and as gullible as I was, got into some stuff. But how does that reflect the dreams?

Sexual activity in dreams is one thing, but the same thing in your waking life is very different proposition, and is up to the person concerned (you) to decide whether or not this is appropriate or even advisable behaviour at such a tender age (when you are and were a minor according to the law).

I am not here to judge you or to interfere in what is not my business, but rather to assist you to more effectively and compassionately interpret your dreams in a manner which is both self empowering, and which also helps you to better understand what these unconscious symbols could possibly mean to your dreaming mind (which is all that really matters from a dream interpretation perspective).

Possibly your dreams are an expression of the powerful internal conflicts currently going on within you between what your teenage hormones and instincts are telling you that you should do in order to have the love and respect which you so deserve in your relationship(s).

Your hormones are telling you to go, go, go, but your unconscious mind is extremely uncomfortable with this type of behaviour, regardless of what you might say to the contrary. You have been brought up with certain moral values which you can continue to endlessly deny all you want at the conscious level, but your unconscious mind which gives rise to your dreams is far more difficult to convince that this is the right thing to do, or that it is the only way that a man is ever going to want to have a relationship with you.

So your dreaming mind is in effect acting as your own private inner therapist, and the dreams it produces are genuine but often vain attempts to resolve or to more fully come to terms with what your body and what your values and conscience are telling you, which are obviously the complete opposite of one another at present.

If these dreams continue indefinitely and they are preventing you in any way from having healthy relationships or worse are putting you in physical or some other sort of danger, then this probably means that you will require the services of a professional person who is better qualified than myself to offer you the advice which you will need to move forwards once again and make real progress. Once this has been done, there will be no further useful purpose for you having this type of dream, and they should soon disappear by themselves without any further action being taken by you felt to be necessary.

But just as with an actual reading, a dream interpretation by itself should never be used as a total substitute for you exercising your own free will, so I must therefore leave you with this decision as to whether you will either ignore or alternately act upon the advice given to you with the genuine intention to help and care for you on this forum.

Be kind to yourself and do not be content to settle for second best when it comes to finding true love,

The same thing has always happened to me. My assumption is that since we are in R.E.M (rapid eye-movement) sleep when we dream and the brainwaves being generated at this time are almost identical to when we are awake, the extra...excitement is enough to cause some people to wake up.
