Could I suggest that you might like to try replacing "burning tree" with "burning bush", as was encountered by Moses in the biblical Old Testament book of Exodus.
From what I remember of this story the burning bush was seen as a call to God's service and as a test of his servant's faith that God would lead his people to the promised land. Moses is described as being very reluctant to take on the role, arguing that he lacked eloquence, and that someone else should be sent instead. God was possibly trying to tell Moses that he was a better judge of who was the best person to lead his chosen people out of the wilderness, and that the burning bush was a sign or dramatic proof of his divine approval for Moses being the right man for the job.
The burning tree in your dream was most likely sent as proof that although you might have serious doubts that you are equally suitable for whatever task God has chosen for you to do, and it might also be the case that you are constantly demanding proof of things which should be accepted only by faith.

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.
