Hello, Sunflower!
The reason most of our symbols are hard to find in books is because they are our own, made up of our own experiences that no one else has gone through in the same exact way.
What you need is to find out what your Dream Director (think of him as a very skilled Spielberg) has been trying to convey when using those backdrops, actors, music, sensations, etc.
All I can do is ask you some questions. If you write down your answers and then read them imagining you are describing someone or something in your life or in yourself right now, you might get the answers you are seeking right where they are: inside you.
So, if you want to try...
Please describe to me the word "thirst". What does it mean to be extremely thirsty? What do people do when they are? What do you do? What are you thirstying for when awake? Describe "drink", "drinking", tell me how it feels in the dream to drink all that. Describe a recent situation in which you have felt like that.
What is an "atomic bomb testing site"? Would you live in one? Why do people live/die there in your dream? Can you tell? An alarm goes off, someone dies. Have you gotten any alarming signs that could point to a part of you that may be dying or under threat? Like some friendship, hobby, inclination...? Have you had any alarming body signs lately, like headaches, or anything unusual? Even if you do not die, there is obviously some part of you exposed to danger and suffering from it, so listen to any alarms, usually given off by the body first, or maybe by altered emotions.
Just a last thing: you do not have to write your answers on the board if you don't like. One can never tell how far a dream will take us, and some things are best explored by ourselves. Just tell me if you got anything interesting by following this method. If you did, remember that you can apply it to any dream you have and you will usually get more accurate answers than from any book.
Cheers!
