Hi all,

This is the dream I saw last night. I would be grateful for opinions on the same.

there were patches of land of around a meter on all sides- in the form of a grid-. Each square had a foot high boundary on all 4 sides which was tapering/sloping towards the inside.

A small bird - could be a sparrow, was in one of the squares which was trying to get out of it but was again and again slipping back. it somehow crossed the boundary and flew a bit but it was flying very low. I watched it struggle for sometime then I dont know what overcame me, I went forward to catch it. it tried to escape again and again. And my determination to catch gre with each failure.

After a lot of futile efforts i managed to catch it but it slipped out. then after a couple of more tries I caught it and held it firmly. The bird spoke to me like a human. It said I have to go to___________(i forgot the place it mentioned)
I told the bird that ''let me look at your right feet first'' (i think it was damaged)

I dont remember correctly but i think the bird spoke to me in a male voice.

What could this dream mean? Any clue?

Thanks and regards,
Sun

It sounds to me as though you are attempting by whatever means you feel you are able to help the sparrow get out of this maze, and finally reach it's chosen destination in your dream.

What follows are only some of many possible alternate meanings of sparrows in a dream. Your's may or may not be included in this list.

Quote:
sparrow

Strength in commonness or in being average. For example, being average would help you relate to and understand most people. Also, being happy with what you have. To dream of a sparrow means that you are getting in touch with these aspects of yourself, or that these characteristics will come in handy for you sometime soon...............

The general theme I feel behind your dream is that you are yourself currently feeling without any real sense of direction in your waking life, and that you also feel about as helpless as the dream sparrow probably does in finding your way or the best path through the "maze" of whatever personal issues this dream refers to.

Thank you for the interpretation eye_of_tiger...
I appreciate you for taking out time to reply to my post.

I am not really sure if it was a sparrow...i remember it as a small bird...but unfortunately i dont remember the colour or other such details..

If i saw the bird as myself stuck in issues...why is it that I saw myself in my human form as well? then were there 2 of me interacting with each other? And the bird spoke to me in a man's voice...if it were me I would have heard my own voice no?

these are just a few questions that cropped in my mind....

Thanks and regards,
Sun

Any small and relatively helpless bird would I feel have achieved the same purpose (sparrow or otherwise).

This is only a suggestion, but could it be that you are being asked to look at yourself from two completely different viewpoints at the same time - that of the experimenter who is totally in control, and that of the small and effectively lost and helpless little bird? The controller and the controlled?

Possibly, but not necessarily. If the major authority figures in your life up until now have always been male, then perhaps this is why you are now speaking to yourself through a dream using a man's voice instead of your own. It is your dreaming mind's way of getting your attention. You are it feels more likely to sit up and take notice if it is a man's voice speaking these words, rather than a woman's.

Cheers,

Could another angle to this be that I am trying to manipulate/help/assist/take over a 2nd person symbolised here by the bird?

I really am just making assumptions...obviously you know a thousand folds more than i do
