An eagle appears before me, then turns into a native american male with long white hair. He stares intently at me then turns into a flock of blackbirds that fly away. This is a reoccuring dream that awakens our friend in a cold sweat and an uneasy feeling.

Any feed back, thoughts. I know more info is desired on our part to, but this is what we have to work with right now.

The eagle, being a bird, represents a spiritual feeling or an intent or intention. As the eagle is known especially for its excellent eyesight, it can suggest a feeling of seeing everything very clearly (as in our expression “having eagle eyes”). This can also imply understanding clearly. Some people chose to regard the eagle as a symbol of power, thus possibly suggesting feelings that give power to you.

Here those feelings suggested by the eagle can be seen in terms of a native American Indian. As the male Indian has long white hair, he would refer to the idea of the wise old Indian. Thus the spiritual feelings or intention being used most likely relate to the wisdom of the native American Indian. The way in which your mind (represented by the male Indian) functions might make most people slightly uncomfortable. (Indian stares at you)

In this scene, the wisdom of the native American Indian can itself be seen in terms of a flock of blackbirds. Black birds in general would suggest spiritual feelings or intents that are very unenlightened or negative. Using an unenlightened spiritual feeling you may be putting some distance between your emotional nature (the blackbirds) and the True Self. (blackbirds fly away)

There are several important points to note in this dream. Animals (here birds) represent instinctive irrational feelings while the human form represents rational thinking. Thus the change from eagle to Indian male would seem a compliment to you, however the change from human male to blackbirds is not. The eagle might imply a positive feeling (one eagle) but the end result relating to the “wisdom of the native American Indian” is not a positive feeling. (a whole flock of blackbirds) The dream appears to be literally saying that the “wisdom” of the native American Indian is really “for the birds”.  

Where your spiritual feelings incline you towards native wisdom, in reality you may need to sense some anxiety, to feel uneasy. A human’s power comes from learning to use their mind well. The mind being the higher more spiritual aspect of a human is closer to God than are the emotions which are of the body.]
