I feel that you are continuing to have these dreams because your mind is telling you that it is high time you moved on, but at the same time you still have feelings for him, regardless of the reasons for you breaking up with each other.
By focussing so much on these dreams and constantly wondering why you should still be having them at this stage (how long has it actually been since you parted), you are unfortunately setting yourself up for more of the same.
Unless these dreams progress into something much more frightening and serious, I believe that they will eventually fade into nothingness entirely by themselves, without any further intervention on your part or by a professional. The healing process is still far from being complete (especially if the break up was within the last six months), so I would suggest that you should avoid building these dreams up to be more important than they really are.
Assume a " yawn - that was boring" attitude towards such dreams in future, and do not dwell too long as to what hidden meanings they might possibly have, as honestly I think they are simply the result of mental static, and have no deeper meaning in themselves other than that they indicate that your emotional healing process is still in progress.
