It has been at least a year since I "flew" in my dream, but here is what it was like:
I was at my karate school standing in the parking lot with a person I did not know and I don't know, we ended up laughing and i turned around and ran. I pulled a "hulk" stunt and jumped in the air once. it was as high as a regular jump, but i touched the ground and jumped again and i lifted off the ground. i looked behind me to see that man, then a couple other people standing under me waving. i could not tell who they were. i turned around in the air and touched back down and smiled to myself. i started to run again, but this time, it was difficult.
it was like in a chase scene when you're running away from something, but you just can't seem to go any faster.
it was like that. i tried to jump again, but it was very feeble. i kept running, getting frustrated and jumped again. once again it didn't work. i stopped running and turned to face the karate school. there was no one there anymore, not even the man i could not identify.
PLEASE help me. i want to know what it meant, i don't think i had any problems with my friends, family, school or anything at the time.
but i would also like to know how i can dream this again. the feeling of jumping in the air and taking off was wonderful, even in a dream.
i've heard of something called lucid dreaming, being able to "recall" dreams, but i don't know how to do that.
please help me anyone, it was appreciated.

Hi Taylor,
Lucid dreams are those in which the person suddenly becomes aware that they are dreaming, and therefore have very little to do with our abilities to recall the contents of our dreams (other than that lucid dreams can often be recalled in every little detail for the rest of our lives, while the common variety dream's details soon fade away, not long after we wake up). Leave lucid dreams to the more advanced dreamers amongst us, at least for now?
Dreams of flying are almost at the top of the 10 most frequent types of dreams. Some teachers say that they are because the dreamer is having an Out of Body Experience (sometimes also called astral travelling) at the time. Others believe that the act of flying has only a symbolic meaning - flying in a dream could possibly represent something completely unrelated to what the dream first appears to be telling us.
In this particular case, I believe that the meaning of this dream was entirely symbolic, and had nothing whatsoever to do with any problems you were presently with your friends, family, school or anything at the time.
It has I feel much more to do with you reaching high to achieve whatever you have set out to do (your life ambitions), and at the moment you are not yet quite there. Your expectations about how you should perform compared to others are temporarily much higher than what you are presently able to reach, but eventually you will be able to get off the ground like an experienced jet pilot, and fulfil your purpose for being here.
The overall purpose of your dream is not to discourage you from continuing to extend your reach and keep trying, but I feel that it is urging you not to immediately give up simply because you may feel that you still have so far to go. Reach for the stars, but at the same time be realistic in realising that nothing worth achieving in life is generally obtained overnight, without any further effort or patience.
Rather than constantly overextending your reach and becoming discouraged and dispirited, move forwards in smaller and more manageable steps. Trying to always meet a problem head on as a whole would frighten anybody. Surely dividing your problem up into a series of smaller but ordered steps, each of which you would have a good chance of successfully completing, would be a more effective plan for eventually reaching your life goals.
Does this help, or have I only confused you further (if so, then this is my fault and not your's)? I will do my best to make the intended meanings clearer for you, if required to do so.
Cheers mate,

i understand what you were saying, thank you.
and about lucid dreams...
i was told lucid dreaming was the ability to recall dreams, i didn't know that was me knowing that i was dreaming... if that's the case, then i have a lucid dream every night, because i always know when i'm dreaming.
i just never get out of the situation that i'm in and i don't have all that much control over the dream...
if that makes any sense to you.
but thanks for answering my main question.
