I am friends with a guy a dated 15 years ago.  He's an engineer and only believes in hard facts, statistics and all that stuff.  I go more on instinct and am very open minded.
We were talking the other about how he can believe in ghosts if he believes the way he does.  He proceeded to tell me about a place he visited as a child.  As soon as he starts I know what he is talking about.  I had a dream, very vivid, with great detail, slightly different from what I was being told.  My husband knows because I had told him.  I had the dream somewhere around 6-9 years ago.  I actually went looking for the place.
Major difference I was there during the daytime, it got dark, then back to daylight.
He knows that he never told me about it.  I know he never told me about and even if he did, how could I have remembered in such great detail?

Long story short-a huge field where a two story farmhouse appears.  There is a rocking chair (rocking) and a dresser on the porch.  A baby, on fire, crawls from the left side of the porch to the right side and then everything disappears.  This is his and its after dark.

In mine-it begins daylight, the house appears and it's dark, then when the house disappears it's daylight again.  I can remember looking out over the hills from the back of the lot.  Beautiful view (he says he wasn't able to see it, but was in the mountains of WV).  I remember the road to get there, the big rock/boulder at the end of the driveway, the long driveway ending either as just gravel or with a log of some sort.  This is all stuff he don't remember.  Oh and I could smell the smoke.

Any ideas?  Myself, my husband, and my ex are anxious to figure out why and how this could have happened.

Hi dj-

It's hard to say if you picked a memory out of your exbf's mind and had a dream about it; if what you dreamed about was very similar to his experience or if in fact you had a sort of connection/psychic link to the place he remembers. It's also quite possible he mentioned it when you two were in your mid teens and both of you forgot discussing it.

What does the dream mean that you had? It's hard to say at this point considering it has been about nine years and it's hard to hold on to the feeling associated with that particular dream. Certain things which are important can be lost in translation over time.

The information of the dream is unclear.

My question to you is if it stands out and resonates with you for so many years, have you delved into looking into the history of the home? It does not necessarily mean the history exists, but perhaps it did happen? If not, more information must be given to interpret this.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful... with more information it's a possibility

Thanks for your input.  Apparantly he visited this place as a child, long before I met him.  He said that the only reason he mentioned that particular story to me was that his cousin brought it up a few days before.  However, your right.  He could have told me and we both forgot.  He really feels that isn't the case.  And he's the skeptic.  I do remember feeling really sad, disturbed and horrified.  And I still remember the dream very vividly.  It's never been far from my thoughts.  Everytime we go down a dirt road and I see something that resembles the big rock at the end of the driveway, I tell my husband (if I'm with him and not alone) to turn up that driveway.  Once I thought I found it.  Then the more I looked around I knew I didn't.  The ex tells me that it's not even in my state.  He doubts it's even still the same as it's been so long.  I asked if he would take me there, and he said that he nor his cousin can remember how to and the guy that showed them isn't around anymore.  I wanted to go so bad.

When I was dreaming, I remember that I felt so peaceful and that I wanted to buy the land to build a house on until it got dark and the baby appeared.  Then it was so horrifying and disturbing and I wanted to help the baby and couldn't.  It was so sad.  I wrote it all down in a notebook, but we just moved and I'm still unpacking stuff ever so slowly.  lol  I don't know what or if it means.  It's just one of those things that is so freaky.  All 3 of us are just really curious.  I know my husband would like to know it's a forgotten communication.  lol  Unfortunately, the ex and I have always had a bond of sorts.  Not to that extent though.  We were always in sync with each other.
We are not together for some really stupid reasons and teenage stupidity.  However, we are really good friends now that we got all the miscommunications and false beliefs out of the way.  One day I was sitting at the computer and felt like he was in trouble.  At that same time his wife was spraying air freshner in his eyes because he changed the tv channel.  We still click like that.
