I just had a dream and wanted to jot it down before I forgot it because I feel that there is definitely something to it.

I am on my way to the airport with a very old friend named Yolanda who I haven't spoken to in almost a decade. We weren't very close, and she was more the friend of a friend. The thing that always stood out about her was what a good sidekick she was. She was quiet and always blended into the background really well - so perhaps thats why I conjured her up...to be my sidekick. Who knows.

So Yolanda and I are traveling...and now we're on a train platform and the train comes. I rush on and am told that this train is going back in the direction from which it came...and that the train i DO need to take won't be coming for a few minutes (this happens all the time in NYC)

For some reason I decide to sit down on the train anyways...and Yolanda decides to sit on the chairs on the platform and wait there instead.

Suddenly the train I'm on takes off and I am whisked away without her. I ask a man where we are going and learn that this is the right train after all.

Now I am frustrated because when I get to the airport I'll have to wait for Yolanda to get to me before getting on our flight. This could take hours and I need somewhere to crash.

I remember that I have the key to my crushes house and she will be at work all day. So I decide to go there to pass the time.

While there, I make myself at home, and even have some guests over. We have a wonderful time. And never once do I call Yolanda to tell her where I am. But then I look at the clock, and realize that its past 5pm. I need to clean up and get out of there before my crush realizes I've been in her space.

Slight panicked, I frantically run around cleaning up any trace that I was there. Put things back in my suitcase that I had unpacked to get comfortable. And make sure her place is exactly how I found out.

As I wheel my suitcase to the front of the house, I hear a lock in the door. It opens...and it is her. She is home early! It's only 6 and I swore it would be another two hours before she arrived.

"Hey! I just stopped by. You should really lock your door Missy!" I say pretending like I didn't have the key.

"Well this is a nice neighborhood so there is no need" she replies not even seeming phased by my unannounced presence in her house.

In her eyes and her smile I can see she is actually happy to see me. She feels warm and natural.

Then she says "Let me introduce you to___"

The name of the person is lost but she opens the door to the guest room where an older woman is laying in bed.

Just then I remember that I had seen this woman earlier in the house amongst my guest. I freeze thinking she will blow my cover.

"This is my friend." my crush says "I think you met her once before"

"No I have never met her" the older woman says almost kindly. She gives me the sense that my secret is safe with her. She won't tell my crush that I had been there all along. And I feel comforted by this.

Then wake up.

Planes generally mean that you want something to happen reasonably quickly. Often a wish to achieve something quickly means that you must put less effort into something else. Something or some other area of your life has to be sacrificed in order to bring this about? There is also a suggestion of the freedom offered by flight, and of the person being able to rise above or transcend their problems (or see them from a higher perspective). But planes can relate to more long term goals such as your ambitions and careers. Finally a plane may simply suggest that you are realising that things in general can happen very quickly, including the problems you have unintentionally created by wanting to speed things up according to your own flight schedule.

You are possibly being forced by your current circumstances to change your priorities about what you feel is most important to be done first. In a dream the sight of a busy airport represents your increasing desire for freedom and/or travel as this is the jumping off point for all those who travel the world and it brings out your hidden desires to do the same. If the airport is empty and deserted your own travel plans will be changed or delayed. Since airports are hot spots for the unexpected in the waking world, they signify an important transitional state in dreams; the boarding gates are symbolic portals of infinite arrival and departure. Face these points of entry bravely, with light baggage and an open mind for adventure.

Trains signify attempts to reach significant destinations in our lives"such as career or romantic goals. Dreams of this nature often reflect a hope for liaison on the part of the dreamer with the object of their affections. The remaining part of the dream may unfold with the object of romance as a companion.

A train within the dream may represent the dreamer is attempting to segment, compartmentalize or review various phases, cycles or areas of his or her life.

By effectively sealing off parts of our life into separate little compartments, we hope that things we are embarrassed by can be kept secret from the rest of our personality. In other words, we are often unwilling to fully admit the depth of our own feelings about someone in our waking life, even to ourselves (let alone to other people close to us).

Has the intended meaning(s) of your dream now been made that much more clearer?
