Just wondering if anyone has had a similar dream or any interpretations.
In my dream a giant hand holding a radiant yellow sun appeared. I woke up right after this.

Thanks

I must confess that I have never personally experienced such a dream, but whatever it's meaning is to your dreaming mind (which could be very different than if I had dreamed the same thing), it sounds very positive and spiritually uplifting.

Someone is effectively handing the sun (or whatever it represents to your dreaming mind) over to you on a golden platter?

Sun - Its dream significance can vary, but it always indicates productive, creative energy which sets in motion intellectual or artistic processes, as well as processes of the consciousness.

Hand - The hand is a symbol of "action", control, activity and power.

One possible interpretation of your dream is that the power or control of your own life and creative processes or gifts are now being handed (more) over to you. With this added power comes the unavoidable burden of increased responsibility for creating your own destiny.

No wonder the sun was often worshipped as if it was a God by many so called primitive cultures in the distant past. It's sheer power and intensity, and the fact that it supports all forms of conscious life on the face of the Earth and within it's oceans, is a constant reason for a feeling of divine mystery and awe concerning our nearest star (only 8.3 light minutes away).

A SUNny disposition is one which is cheerful or genial.

"A cloudy day is no match for a SUNny disposition". — William Arthur Ward.

Thank you for your interpretation. You are right about the uplifting, positive feeling.
This was a very vivid dream and invoked a feeling of divine awe. The interesting part is I am not sure if it was a lucid dream or third eye (chakra) vision. It occurred during the time I was nodding off to sleep and I have read most dreaming happens in the REM State, which is reached after sleeping a while. Since it was a beautiful dream/vision, I figured I would share the experience with my spiritual family at this forum

Does it really matter to you which one of these (if either) is true? Would knowing that it was a lucid dream or alternately that it was a third eye vision make it's messages any more or less valuable to you in better understanding yourself and your life purpose?

A third eye vision, or any form of vision suggests to me that you are not actually asleep. Lucid dreams are those in which the dreamer suddenly becomes aware in the middle of their dream that they are dreaming. To dream we usually need to be asleep (REM sleep), while visions are usually associated with altered states of consciousness OTHER than sleep? Both lucid dreams and visions can be unusually vivid (they can seem more real than real life), although I believe from what else you have told me that this was indeed a lucid dream experience.

Such dreams are believed to come from deeper layers of our unconscious minds that are not normally reachable by any other means. Some say that they come directly from our own Higher Self, or the spark of our Creator which exists within each of us. A deeply moving and unforgettable spiritual event (for years after having dreamt it)?

Cheers,

Eye_of_Tiger,

You are right, it really does not matter which one it was. The experience and meaning are the same regardless. Thanks for the additional insights
