Yes I agree that some dreams may in fact be simply the products of mental housecleaning or alternately of random thought static, but in the case of this particular dream there may be some messages contained within it which only your dreaming mind knows for sure.
Why would you be unwrapping the Queen's gifts for her, and why is it specifically a packet of 20 Lambert & Butler cigarettes, which you just happen to have a strong desire to smoke at the moment............??????????????????
The general meaning given for a cigarette appearing in a dream is frequently the development of an addiction, or the need for a stronger sense of self-identity and independence. A cigarette burning in a dream can represent the exhaustion or "burning up" of resources somehow in your life.
Since you never even got the opportunity to smoke one of the Queen's cigarettes (which are not normally shared with mere commoners such as us), perhaps she unknowingly did you a great favour by denying you of the opportunity for a quick drag, and in so doing rescued you from a life of potential addiction or has stopped you from burning up or exhausting your own resources (internal, external or both).
To see a queen in your dream often predicts success for you in some personal venture, but if she is looking particularly old and haggard(?) then the reverse is thought to be true.
Any ideas as to whether this dream might have some special meaning to you after all, or is it more likely to be as you first suggested meaningless?

Hello Prof. Akers
I had a similar experience to yours a while back. I had a dream in which my mother-in-law was attempting to mow my lawn . She was pushing a lawnmower with her legs while sitting on the grass. In my dream everyone applauded her, but I thought it made no sense for her to do something so ridiculous.
When I awakened I thouht to myself some dreams are just nonsense. However, while having breakfast I remembered the previous day my mother-in-law had been telling me to invest in a risky business venture her friend started. I realized this dream was my subconscious communicating to me not to invest in what my in-law was recommending. Since our subconscious communicates with us through images and symbols, I always try to make sense of a dream which "sticks out"
Best Wishes
